These photos are pure. There was not a bit of tainting or coercion required to show the he L families personality. I didn’t have to spend the session in deep focus trying to capture split seconds of expression – they naturally exuded the happiness shown in these images. This posting features a beautiful, joy-filled family with a two and a half year old full the confidence, curiosity and happiness that every two and a half year old boy should have. It really was such a pleasure photographing this trio again. It made me even more excited to have a child and after only 90 minutes of time, gave me a new set of parents to look up to.
As a children’s photographer, it’s always my goal to capture the things a family doesn’t want to forget. Sure, it’s great to remember what your child looks like but I think it’s such a treasure to be able to see an image of how childhood feels. Photos like these allow us pause and hold on to the climax of goodness. A photo can take all of the little pieces of life, bring them together and give us something to recall. In this case, the something to remember that yes, life is good.
