I don’t want to forget the way she stretches when I lay her on her changing table – I don’t want to forget the way she bops her lips on my shoulder asking to eat – the way she falls asleep with her hands in the air – the content expressions, or really – any piece of her. Veteran parents warned me about the sleep deprivation and long nights of waking up with your infant. Maybe I got lucky but I see getting to wake up every two hours is a gift. I know that the undivided time I have with my daughter as an infant will not be here for long and I don’t want to forget any piece of it.
