The best words for this family photo shoot may be found in silence and a curl of your lip. I would be glad to argue with anyone who believes there are cuter photos of an 11 month old. Caris was rocking her faux fur coat and Indian boots while showing every bit of her happiness in these children’s photographs.
I strongly believe the best children’s photography happens when you’re able to vividly see a child’s personality. I was honored to photograph Bobby (dad) and Mariko’s (mom) wedding which leads perfectly into a love and addiction for this type of imagery. Every expression Caris made – even the scowls – Mariko would say “oh, get that.” It’s so meaningful when I get to travel alongside of families through all the important parts of life. I have to do no convincing on why the “sit and smile at the camera” images don’t trigger your heart like the real, personality filled images do.
It seems like every time I photograph a family I find myself getting a new set of favorite photos and this session is no exception. Here is my recent addition to my “new set of favorite family photographs” file and I’m so glad it was for one of my favorite couples.
